I always knew how important traditions were. But I didn't realize HOW important until our children kept saying things like, "I LOVE when we do..." or "remember how we ALWAYS do...".
I guess, since they haven't lived very long, it doesn't take much time for something to become a "TRADITION". And you know what? I truly love it!
One thing we have consistently done is NEW pajama's and a new ornament on Christmas Eve. The pajama's make for lovely Christmas morning pictures, and the ornament is based on something that "marks" the year for that person. It doesn't have to be monumental, just a good memory!
So what are YOUR Christmas traditions?
What a beautiful family, and beautiful traditions!
ReplyDeleteWe've not really started any particular traditions of our own yet, since we've spent every Christmas since we were married with either my family or my husband's. I do think we are going to start doing special ornaments every year, though - we got each girl an ornament for their first Christmas, and this year they were so excited to hang them that I think they're ready for annual ornaments!
I like the idea of the new pajamas, too - I'll have to run that one by my husband for future years!
glad i could inspire you! it is SO cute to see them get excited about the "little things"!
ReplyDeleteand thank you! xo, lisa
