Meet the Artist at Diem Designs Feature Friday

Today's featured artist is Sarah Jo of Diem Designs. I'm so excited to feature Sarah, not only because she is incredibly talented...but because I know her, and she is ALL kinds of AWESOME!

Without further ado....meet Sarah!

Sarah, how long have you been creating?

• 6 years as a silver smith and 3 years creating recycled journals

How did you get started?

• My father has been a metalsmith / jeweler for 35+ years. When I was pregnant with my first son, I was too sick to keep my regular job, so my mother suggested that I learn to silversmith. My father was more than happy to help me learn. Diem Designs was born!

What is your workspace like?

• Organized chaos! By looking at it, you wouldn't know where anything is, but I do! (I can totally relate to this one Sarah!)

What inspires you?

• Nature, art deco, fluid lines.

What is your favorite tool to use and why? (here's our kindred spirit part!)

• My hammers & torch, it's so much fun to play with fire and hit things!

Where can we find your work?

• At Diem Designs on Etsy!

And the stuff we all REALLY want to know!

What's your favorite color?

• PINK! I know typical answer, but mine is pink because of my mother. She is living with Breast Cancer.

If you could live anywhere is the whole world, where would it be and why? (again, kindred spirits)

• Pacific NorthWest. It's so beautiful out there, the mountains and forests.

What's the biggest disaster in creating your art that you have encountered?

• I haven't had many big ones. LOTS and LOTS of small ones...melting a bezel over and over. Cracking gemstones while setting them.

If someone were to describe you in one word...what would it be?

• Sweet. (And I TOTALLY agree!)
