It's a popular phrase. I find myself saying it. It's kind of silly and yet fun to say, a tad bit better than "shut up!", made uber popular by one of my favorite movies Princess Diaries.
But seriously, I love front doors. They say a lot about a person.
My dream front door? Rustic in style, colorful, and accompanied by a screen door that goes "creeeaaaak, slam" you know what I'm talking about!
I found some beauties to share with you....

I love front doors too. When my sister and I were in Greece 2 years ago, we literally took hundreds of photos of front doors from small villages on the mainland and islands. The first photo here reminds me of so many of them. She framed about 20 of them and has them hanging in her home. I love to imagine the story behind the design, the carpenter who put the masonry and door together, and the life stories behind the doors. Beautiful photos you have here.

Oh Michelle, I LOVE that idea!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE DOORS!!! And love what Michelle said. I've been dying to use a sliding barndoor stylish door within our house. Saw it in a friends home and in magazines. I have the perfect opening between our dining room and living room that would love to shut off at times and I think would look awesome! It's definitely on my "to do" list!
ReplyDeleteTHanks for this post Lisa!
I love doors with big transoms on top and lots of glass on the side, too. Even better if they are stained glass with nature motif on a log cabin or post and beam home. I have a picture of it already, our door way is just not wide enough.
