One of the limitations of having a Blogger blog is that I don't have all the amazing little add ons and gadgets that a Wordpress blog offers. One as simple as being able to respond to comments as they happen on my blog. I want to respond to you...really.
But there is a simple thing you can do to make it easy for me. Something you may not even be aware of. Add your email to your Blogger profile!
When you comments come in my inbox if you have an email attached I can just hit respond, and viola! You have a response from me. But without that teeny tiny itsy bitsy little tweak to your profile, I can do nothing! All I see is you as a NO COMMENT BLOGGER. Ick.
So I thought I would at the very least show you how easy it is to add your email to your profile!
Log into Blogger and click on "edit profile" it should look something like this.
See where there is a little box that says "show my email address"? Yes that one. You need to make sure the box has a check mark in it!And below that on the same page, there is a place for you to enter your email, besides your Gmail address, you might want to do that as well!
Are we good so far?
NOW when you do actually take time to, "ahem" respond with a comment, I will in fact, respond back to you...right away even!
Trust me, this will change your life. Ok, maybe not change your life, but it will be one step towards seamless blog commenting :) Deal?
I have an idea. Test it out. Leave a comment and see what happens! (see I'm sneaky like that!)

I am confused. I receive an email any time someone comments. So how does them being able to see my email address help? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Trish, because you don't have your email attached I can't respond directly to your comment in MY inbox. In fact, I have no way to contact or respond to you at all. By having your email attached to your blogger account your comment arrives in my inbox with an actual email address, instead of "no comment blogger". Does that make sense?
