Everywhere we go there are screaming hints that Valentines Day is right around the corner.
Pink.
Red.
It's all over the place.
Just walking into Target this weekend and I was bombarded. Even all our favorite candy takes on a Valentines Day theme.
But what is love really?
- We love our morning coffee.
- We love our dishwasher.
- We love our seat heaters in the car.
- We love our cameras.
- We love our dogs.
- We love chocolate.
- We love our men.
- We love our children.
Is all love the same? Do we throw that word out there too loosely?
Or are we just designed to love?
Deeply. Passionately. Sincerely.
I'm not trying to be philosophical. I just had a thought and wanted to try and process it...here.
I believe the capacity to love, whether it be our coffee or our best friend...is a GIFT.
And like all gifts, it should be embraced.
What are you "LOVING" today?
This week everyday I will highlight a "find" that I LOVE in preparation for Valentines Day.
I found these on my favorite shopping place ETSY! Hearts but not cutesy. LOVE!
from the Paper Polaroid on Etsy and don't forget to order your StudioJewel original by tomorrow to guarantee a Valentines Day delivery :) |
Awesome blog post!
ReplyDeleteWhat am I loving today?
I love the way my kids faces light-up when I tell them I love them before pushing them out the door for school.
Great thoughts!
ReplyDeleteToday, I am loving that my husband knows when I'm having a tough morning and he gives me extra hugs & kisses before I have to leave for work. He's the best.
Great blog post and really pretty blog. It is so important to remember all that we love and that we are loved. Thanks
ReplyDeleteLove is, perhaps, a word which is bandied about too loosely, Lautrec, but in a way, it's not, either.
ReplyDeleteEspecially as regards people and the relationships we construct.
The human mind and heart are capable of infinite Love - the notion that "Love" has a limit, is finite, or cannot be shared with more than one other person is ludicrous.
Love is the most honest emotion we, as human beings, can enjoy. It should be shared with as many other human beings as possible.
wow...beautiful responses!
ReplyDeleteI love when my grandson gives me spontaneous kisses and hugs.
ReplyDeletelove this blog!
ReplyDeleteI love this blog too.... and all of my wonderful friends!
ReplyDeleteAwesome post, Lisa, and overall blog is dynamite.
ReplyDeleteBelieve that love comes in so many shapes and sizes, we often misconstrue "like" for love. And then there are varying degrees of LOVE. It is not created equally...but that's OK.
Simple, pure gestures, humor, random hugs for no particular reason, hearing the voice of an old friend I haven't seen or spoken with in ages, favorite foods, pets, "some" men, "some" women, passion for anything...these are just a few.
Let's not forget that we need to love ourselves, too. ♥♥♥
Aw, these are all great responses!
ReplyDeleteI love how my kids can cheer me up in a matter of minutes. I love how my husband takes such good care of me. I love my friends for listening to me complain, whine and share in my triumphs, too.
