You know the kind of skirts that won't allow you to bend over and pick up a pencil? Don't tell me you don't know what I'm talking about! I know you do.
But sometimes they are just so darn cute! Too cute to resist!
However, I have a problem...well, several actually, but that's not the point. Anyway, long legs equals short skirts. And skirts that may not be indecent on girl "A" are always indecent on me! And then there is the whole "age appropriate" length thing.
Solution? Slips.
Yes. You heard me. Slips. Now before you get all huffy and thinking of the slips your mama used to wear. This is a new kind of fabulous slip. Slips that add color. Slips that add style. Slips that...most importantly...add length!
I just returned from a conference in Nashville, Tennessee. And I had so much fun getting out of the studio and dressing like a girl. One of my favorite outfits consisted of a fantastic lace dress, which would have been too short, except for my Free People slip. You've seen this slip before. It appeared in my Winter Trends post, as well as under another dress in with my sweet Wolverine Boots!
You can find slips in all colors and styles.
Pretty and pink, or navy, or neutral, or white from Anthropologie.
Want extra support AND length? What about a shape wear slip from Jockey? They even have a "no panty line promise"...don't ask me!! I'm just relaying the info!
And I ADORE this lace version I found on Etsy! {{swoon}}
Looking for something a bit more luxe? How about this beauty from Farfetch.com YE-OW! I just love the navy blue. Simply GORGEOUS!
There you go....a few ideas to get you started. No need to fear the hemline. Layer. Add a slip. Experiment. And carry on!
Let me know what you find! I'd love to hear about how you used this idea!
And don't forget....
BE creative!
